Dear Simba,

Today I caught up with a friend I hadn’t spoken to in a while. She shared a heartbreaking story about a friend of hers whose brother’s girlfriend passed away from brain cancer at just 38, leaving behind two children.

We found ourselves reflecting on how fragile life is and how important it is to truly live in the moment. To enjoy the here and now, because it’s all we really have. It’s a simple truth, but not always easy to embrace—especially when faced with painful stories like this or when you’ve experienced your own loss.

Still, I know this is the key to living a full and meaningful life. I’m going to keep reminding myself to let go of worries about the future and focus on the beauty of the present moment.

Love,

Mummy
